Bastard Noise

Bastard Noise was initially formed in the second quarter of 1991 to explore the avenues of unconventional expression, using founding member BARNES’ “caveman electronics” and WOOD’s vision of lyrical awareness, that was going un-used in Man is the Bastard. BN’s line-up has varied greatly over the years, but the nucleus of BARNES, WOOD and NELSON, has remained the longest lasting to date. BN has numerous recorded works, many now out of print, in almost every format available and worked with such artists as: Unseen Noise Death, Bizarre Uproar, MSBR, Pain Jerk, Government Alpha, the Locust, TSFFS, Spastic Colon, Merzbow and many other international sound artists. In the summer of 2000, BN toured the islands of Honshu and Hokkaido, Japan with the line-up of WEISE/WOOD, performing for strong, enthusiastic turnouts and playing alongside such far east giants as: Incapacitants, Merzbow, Masonna, Zeni Geva, Kazumoto Endo and Guilty Connector. With over 60 various releases to it’s creative esteem, BN’s current incarnation of WOOD and NELSON continues to desecrate conventional stigmas with its marriage of analog “ROAR” (caveman electronics) and custom sound files, executed on digital, laptop computer. The end of humanity as we know it maybe be near, but it is just the beginning for BASTARD NOISE.

Bastard Noise contribute a track to the upcoming volume of the Radon Uropa 7" series. Joined by Ripit, this 3rd issue in the series will be available on extra thick vinyl. A collaboration release between Bastard Noise and Sikhara is now available from GLK records. Mixed and mastered by Kamilsky, with original tracking at Cal Arts Los Angeles by Bob Bellerue, the disc is an apocolyptic swirl of sound. Waves of ROAR from the classic line-up of Wood/Weise/Nelson mingle with vocal chantings from the Amazon basin, Mongolia and beyond.
